This week’s Page Partner Spotlight is Migizi!
Migizi, which means “bald eagle” in Ojibwe, is a Minneapolis-based nonprofit organization providing American Indian youth with a strong circle of support that nurtures their educational, social, economic and cultural development.
“All Minnesota children deserve a public education system that is based in quality rather than in uniformity and adequacy. The current design does not work for American Indian, Black and other children of color or lower-income Minnesotans. It only serves to perpetuate racial and socioeconomic disparities. We must employ every technique possible to close the state’s enduring education gaps. After years of failed policy, we must amend the state constitution and make a statement that we care about all Minnesotans and their right to a prosperous life.”
