Page Partner Spotlight: Northside Achievement Zone (NAZ)

This week’s Page Partner Spotlight is the Northside Achievement Zone (NAZ)!

The nonprofit’s mission is to end generational poverty and build a culture of achievement in North Minneapolis where all low-income children of color graduate from high school college- and career-ready. NAZ collaborates with parents, community organizations and schools to achieve their mission.

“I support the Page Amendment because I believe that all children have infinite potential. The racial and income achievement gap in Minnesota is not because of our children; we do not have a child problem, we have an adult problem. Our children are not broken, our system is. We, the adults, can fix it with passionate intentionality, commitment and resolve. Passing the Page Amendment guaranteeing a quality public education for all our children would be a tangible expression of our commitment to our children’s future and our future as a state. It would show that we are willing to do whatever it takes to ensure our children succeed. I’m involved because I have seen this type of constitutional change work in other states to significantly improve outcomes for our children. Why not here? Why not now? Why not all of our children? I believe in our state. I know we can do it but only together.”
